  Chapter 1

  Ultimate Sin

  Ava

  2 years after

I wait outside the pre-K playground and watch Isabel and Marcus Jr. walk off to the entrance. They turn and wave a couple of times, and I wave right back at them with a bright smile on my face. Their red cheeks and happy faces give me hope for the future.

They’re so young, and they deserve every little bit of happiness they can get. And I will fight to keep them from harm, always.

I’ve become much surer of my own power ever since these kids came into my life. They’ve shown me there are more things that I can live for. It’s never been easy, knowing where I came from. But when I look at my kids, I know things will be okay.

I wave one more time as they enter the building and disappear from sight. With a sigh, I turn around and stroll to the nearest park, where I sit down on a bench and fish my book from my bag as well as an apple. I start reading the book while eating the apple, distracting myself from the fact that my kids are now in someone else’s hands. But I know they’ll be all right. It’s just a mother’s concern talking in my head, and I won’t let it push me away from my goal.

My kids will have the best chance they can get at life, and nothing will get in their way of achieving their dreams. Not even me. If Marcus Jr. wants to become a pilot, then so be it. Even if it means I won’t see him that often; even if it means he’s in danger. At least, he’ll do something he loves, and that’s worth every second of his precious life. Same goes for Isabel, who’s already expressed she wants to be a teacher. Granted, being a teacher isn’t really that dangerous, so I guess she’ll end up fine.

I smile to myself as I read my book, enjoying every page as if it were my last.

These paper pages make me think of the first time I ever touched a book, and how not so long ago it was. What a big difference a small amount of time can make.

Still, I’m not entirely sure I’m ready to say my life is completely fine now.

There’s still one thing left to do, and it keeps haunting my mind. So much so, that I close my book sooner than expected and go back home.

Daniel’s already waiting for me at the door, and he gives me a quick peck on the lips. “Ready to go?”

I take a deep breath and let it sink in before I answer. “Yes. I’m ready.” I nod.

Daniel hands me the stack of papers that contains all the information about the men who abducted countless women, including me … and every bit of detail about an underground slave-trading, death-dealing group of companies so large they span the globe.

Daniel smiles briefly. “Let’s go to the police station then.”

  Chapter 2

  Twenty-One

  Sky

I take a sip of my coffee and watch Angel from the corner of my eye as he helps Lily finish her small serving of veggies. “I don’t like them,” Lily says, frowning.

“I know, but you still have to eat them,” Angel says. He brings the fork to her mouth while sputtering like an airplane. “Open up!” She opens her mouth and reluctantly takes a bite.

The dimples on his face as he smiles make me feel all warm and fuzzy. I can really tell that he loves her just from the way he can’t take his eyes off her.

When I catch him sneaking glances at me, I immediately hide behind my newspaper and pretend I wasn’t looking. Too late, though, because I hear him muffle a laugh.

  “I saw you,” he muses.

I shrug as I put down the paper. “You saw nothing.” I wink at him, but I can’t stop myself from laughing a little either.

“Sassy girl …” he says. “Peeking at me while I’m trying to feed our girl.”

/>   “Yeah, well, I can’t help it. You just make it look too darn cute.”

“Ha-ha! Mommy called Daddy cute!” Lily squeals.

“Cute? Cute?” He frowns, sticking another spoonful of veggies into her mouth before directing his attention toward me. “I’ll show you how fucking cute I can get when I ram my meat stick into your mouth in a few minutes.”

  My jaw drops. “Angel!”

“What?” He shrugs. “It’s not like she’s old enough to understand.”

“Mommy?” Lily claps her hands together. “What’s fucking? And what’s a meat stick? Can you eat it?”

I smile at her and say, “It something for grown-ups, sweetie. And your daddy’s making jokes again.”

“Joking? Nope. I’m just pointing out the truth here. I am not cute …” He points at me with the spoon. “And don’t you say you don’t love this meat stick.”

“Fine, you’re not cute. You’re an idiot. We good?”

  “Nope …”

“Daddy, can I go play now?” Lily pleads, putting up her best pout.

He smiles and sighs. “Okay … you win.” He puts down the fork and lets Lily slide off her chair.

She immediately runs up the stairs while yelling, “I’m gonna play with my Barbies all night long!”

Angel grins at me. “Drink up your coffee,” he says with a low voice, his eyes dark and lusty.

“Why?” I say with a smirk as I get up and walk to the kitchen with my empty plate to set it in the dishwasher.

Angel approaches me from behind, smothering me with kisses on my cheek and neck, making me giggle.

“That’s why …” he murmurs, nuzzling me.

I place my hand on his and let out a breath as he squeezes my shoulder. It feels so good with him and our little girl here in this home. Like we’re finally where we belong. There’s only one thing that’s bothering me.

“Do you think your father will ever find us here?” I ask.

Angel cocks his head so he can look at me. “No … why do you ask all of the sudden?”

I shrug. “Oh, just because … I guess I’m just worried, that’s all.”

“Don’t be.” He pecks me on my temple. “It’s going to be okay.”

“How do you know? What if …”

“Shh …” he shushes. “I understand, Sky. I’ll go there.”

  “What?” I gasp.

“If it makes you feel safer, I will go there myself and finish the job.”

I turn around in his arms. “But he’s your father. Are you sure?”

“I don’t care. He means nothing to me anymore.” He points at the ceiling. “That little girl up there … she means everything to me now.” And then he taps my chest with his index finger. “And this girl here. She means the most.”

I suppress a smile by biting my lip, but I can’t stop my cheeks from heating.

He gazes down at me from under his lashes. “I’ll do it for our family. For her. For you.”

He grabs my face and kisses me fiercely, protectively, as if he needs to prove something to me.

“Why’d you have to go and bite your lip?” he murmurs. “You know I’m a sucker for that.”

I grin against his lips as he kisses me again and again.

His hands snake down my sides, and he lifts me up the kitchen counter. His mouth is everywhere—on my neck, my shoulder, my lips. He ravages me with no restraint, electricity running through my veins from his every touch.

  “We can’t …” I mutter. “She’s upstairs.”

  “So?” he murmurs.

  “She’ll hear.”

“Not if we don’t make a sound.” He grins against my skin.

“Maybe she’ll come downstairs,” I say.

“Then we’ll have to make it quick.”

There, on the counter, he rips down my pants and underwear and unbuckles his belt, throwing it all aside. Then he rips down his zipper and unbuttons his jeans, pulling them down to reveal a hard-on so big it makes me swallow with greed. One hot kiss on the mouth and he thrusts in without holding back.

  Exactly how I like it.

  Chapter 3

  VIKTOR

  Viktor

“Here you go, ma’am. Enjoy!” I say as I give the small box with the zirconium ring to the lady in front of me and wish her well. She takes it and tucks it into her purse then smiles as she says, “Thank you. Have a nice day.”

“You too!” I reply as she turns and walks out the store.

The bell jingles. Another customer satisfied.

Creating custom jewelry still fills my heart as I find what best fits people and watch them as they put it on. The looks on their faces are all that I need to make it worthwhile. Of course, the cash bonus is nice too.

Having a normal job is great. I wish I’d known sooner that I was capable of doing this because this beats any underground job I’ve ever had. Abducting people, raising them like cattle, selling them. Women being used as baby factories. I’m so glad it’s all in the past now.

Still, it’s a stain on my rep. I can only brush it off by doing the right thing … by finally living like a normal human being and making people happy with their purchase, one sale at a time.

Alexis and I even started raising funds for homeless kids in the neighborhood. It was her idea, and I thought it was a fantastic way to contribute and fix the mess I’d help create. We don’t bring in a lot, a few percentages of our sales each month, but it’s enough to help a couple of kids. But I’ll keep working, keep earning money, and I won’t stop until I’ve helped get each and every one of them off the streets.

Still, thinking about those kids, and how Alexis used to be one of them, makes me shiver. I wonder if she knows how bad the organization that abducted her is, us … how bad we really were. How big it really was.

And I wonder if they’re still doing business. If they’re still on the streets this very moment, continuing to take girls and boys and selling them like stock.

If they could burst into this shop at any moment and find us.

Yes, I have those fears, and they’re not for nothing.

The organization has its ways. Infiltrated so deep into society, they can pop up anywhere and be gone a second later. They’re invisible, untraceable, and everywhere. It could be anyone. It could be the next customer coming in with a gun hidden under his coat.

Like I said, I should be fearful for my life.

I killed one of their leaders, after all.

I know they won’t take it well, and I know someone’s probably thinking about killing me right now.

I’ve been thinking about this for quite some time now. Years, actually. It’s always there, in the back of my mind, but I ignore the voice. I don’t want to worry Alexis.

However, I feel like as more time passes, the less I can deal with this frustration. There’s only one way to relieve my worries, and that’s by calling someone I can trust. Someone inside the company who knows everything about everyone. Someone who can make me feel at ease.

I blow out a big breath and walk to the front of my shop to turn the sign around, so it says ‘closed.’

Then I fish my cell phone from my pocket and call Marcus’s number.

  It doesn’t ring.

Before the beeps come, the noise is cut off by a lady saying the number has been disconnected.

I pull my phone away from my ear and stare at it for a few seconds, wondering what the fuck is going on.

“Who was that?” Alexis asks as she comes in from the back.

“Oh … I just … tried to call Marcus.”

“Marcus?” She puts down a stack of papers. “What’d you need him for? I thought you guys weren’t speaking anymore?”

“We weren’t, but I just wanted to check up on him.” I look at her. “To ask if he knows something about the organization coming after us.”

She makes a face and sucks in a breath, and I know that look on her face all too well.

“I just wanted to know if we’re
safe, but his phone’s been disconnected.”

“Disconnected? Huh. You’re sure he didn’t just forget to pick up?” she asks.

“No. I’m sure all right,” I say, clearing my throat. “Which means something’s wrong.”

She licks her lips and shakes her head. “I hope you’re not thinking of doing what I think you’re going to do.”

I sigh and grab her hands. “Yes, but it’s not what you think.”

“Really? We have to do this now? I thought we were done with the organization.”

“We are … I just want to make sure that we’re safe. I gotta find out what happened. If only just to make sure nothing’s wrong, and that the organization has stopped hunting us. Marcus is the only one who can help us if they find out about us.”

She looks away, but I lift her chin up with my index finger and make her look at me. “Hey … I’ll be back here before you know it.”

  “Promise?”

“Promise,” I say, and I press my lips onto hers, kissing her like there’s no tomorrow.

Because for all I know … there might not be.

But as long as she believes I’ll be back, I know I can do it.

  Chapter 4

  Stalker

  Vanessa

With my lips wrapped around his hard cock, I feel so fucking good.

I admit I’m a sucker for a big, fat cock in my mouth as I enjoy the little bit of updraft underneath my skirt from the open top of this car. I wouldn’t just take any cock, though … it has to belong to Phoenix. No man can claim me like he does.

Like now, when we’re driving down this lonely road through the desert in the middle of fucking nowhere, and we’re getting each other off. His hand is up my skirt, and he’s slipped aside my panties so he can work my clit perfectly like he always does. He knows how to get me going, and the more he circles and caresses, the more I want to lick him until he explodes.
